The Race to Host the 2029 World Transplant Games Continues
The journey to select the host city for the 2029 World Transplant Games has reached another exciting milestone, with the WTGF Inspection Team recently completing official visits to the two finalist bidding cities: Vancouver, Canada, and Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Inspection visits are a vital part of the bidding process, giving the WTGF the opportunity to assess sporting venues, accommodation, transport, event infrastructure and the partnerships that will help deliver an exceptional Games experience.
Both cities presented outstanding proposals. Vancouver impressed with its spectacular University of British Columbia campus, world-class sporting facilities and breathtaking natural surroundings, while Rotterdam showcased its compact city-centre concept, excellent event infrastructure and extensive experience in hosting major international sporting events.
The inspection findings will now be compiled into detailed reports for the WTGF Board. Both bidding teams will present their final proposals in September, after which the Board will vote to determine the host of the 2029 World Transplant Games.
The WTGF extends its sincere thanks to everyone involved in both inspection visits for their outstanding hospitality, professionalism and commitment. We look forward to announcing the successful host city later this year and beginning the journey towards another unforgettable World Transplant Games.
