The mission for the Research Initiative is: to support the growth of research into sport, exercise and health for organ and tissue transplant recipients by harnessing the synergies between the WTGF, its partners and the global network of researchers working in this area.
We have five strategic aims that we believe the Research Initiative is able to contribute to in a meaningful way.
We aim to help connect researchers from across the globe.
We aim to help generate novel research ideas, questions and agendas.
We aim to help create and enhance funding opportunities.
We aim to better enable new research to be conducted.
We aim to share new knowledge within the transplant community.
The purpose of the WTGF is to visibly demonstrate the benefits of successful organ transplantation, work to increase public awareness of its success and thereby increase organ donation rates, as well as promote the full rehabilitation and wellbeing of our participants.
Research can help towards this purpose.
This Research Initiative aims to help realise this purpose by acting as a conduit for high-quality research and ultimately helping to improve the lives of organ and tissue transplant recipients on an international scale.
