The Nicholas Cup Day Camp
The Nicholas Cup Day Camp is an event open to all youth: transplant recipient and supporters aged 4 – 17 years and is organized as part of the World Transplant Winter Games.
This is NOT a live in camp. Children are required to book accommodation separately with their families or national teams. Youth enrolling into the Nicholas Cup Day Camp will attend camp during the daytime hours, which combines ski lessons in the morning and fun social activities in the afternoons.
Besides learning to ski, the camp is about gaining confidence and meeting other young recipients and supporters from around the world. This is the place where lifelong friendships are formed, on and off the slopes in Bormio.
The Nicholas Cup Day Camp will run from 03 March – 08 March 2024 with ski activities starting on Monday 04 March. At the end of the week, all youth are invited to participate in the Nicholas Cup race, which takes place on the morning of Friday 08 March 2024.
Skiing equipment and Ski passes are not provided. Youth should wear helmets for skiing and sledding activities and any other activities where the team thinks a helmet would be appropriate. Children must be accompanied or travel with their families or official national team.

THE NICHOLAS CUP RACE
The Nicholas Cup was created in 2001 in memory of Nicholas Green, a young American boy who was killed in Italy and whose family donated his organs for the benefit of others. The year 2024 will see the 30th anniversary of the death of Nicholas.
In January 2010 transplanted children travelled to Sainte Foy Tarentaise, France, to enjoy a week of fun on the snow – to bond and share their similar life experiences. Since then, the Nicholas Cup Week, either a day or live in camp has been offered for transplant children as a separate event within the World Transplant Winter Games.
This year in Bormio, we have opened the Nicholas Cup race to all youth (recipients and supporters) who want to join in the fun!
The Nicholas Cup race will take place on the morning of Friday 08 March 2024.
The event is a slalom race and all youth will receive a medal.

Please note: Prices are quoted in Euro’s
Youth attending the Day Camp are required to book either a Full Package or a Registration only Package.
The additional cost for the Nicholas Cup Day Camp is €270 per child for 4 days camp and entry into the Nicholas Cup race.
Please note: The price does not include Ski Pass or Ski Equipment.
